What is the opportunity?

This is a highly responsible role in charge of the good health of databases that the clients’ businesses depend on. You’ll be setting up, configuring, maintaining, optimizing, tuning, backing up, restoring, migrating, upgrading, and monitoring a variety of Oracle and Postgres databases in a highly transactional production environment within the most dynamic global industries. That’s why this position demands extensive knowledge and experience in Oracle and/or Postgres databases, a strong focus, and high work quality and precision standards. In addition, working closely with the client’s international teams, your excellent communication skills together with good written and spoken English are of great importance. You’ll be working as a part of a highly experienced, friendly, and knowledgeable team, supporting you along the way and encouraging you to give your best with the extensive knowledge base, learning opportunities, and professional growth paths set for your success.

Required skills:

  • 3+ years of experience in a highly transactional production environment
  • Proficiency in Oracle/PostgreSQL database installation, configuration, backup and recovery management, migrations, upgrade and patch management, performance tuning, and other administrative activities
  • Familiar with Oracle/PostgreSQL database server configuration – capable of tuning server configurations to optimize performance as per required workload
  • SQL performance monitoring and tuning
  • Creating and interpreting entity-relationship diagrams
  • Writing, analyzing, and debugging complex SQL statements
  • Experience with replication configuration in PostgreSQL
  • Underlying operating system core skills (Linux, Windows)
  • Linux bash scripting

Your additional assets would be:

  • Experience in Oracle Exadata
  • Oracle partitioning, compression
  • Oracle Data Guard
  • DB utilities in use throughout the business, e.g., Toad
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure experience
  • PostgreSQL database configuration and administration in clustered HA environment
